How to make it
Prep the pan
Heat your oven to 325F. Line a 9 inch square pan with parchment because this batter is sticky.
Brown the butter
Put the butter in a medium pot. Heat on medium until it melts and the water boils out. Stir as the butter starts to brown so the milk solids do not stick. When it smells like caramel, whisk in the cocoa powder. Let it bubble for a minute. Take the pot off the heat.
Mix the wet ingredients
Whisk in the sweetened condensed milk. Whisk in the powdered sugar until dissolved. Add salt, vanilla, molasses, and the egg yolk. Whisk until smooth.
Add the flour
Whisk in the flour. If you want chocolate chips, let the batter cool a bit before adding them so they do not melt instantly.
Bake
Spread the batter into your pan. Do not worry if it is not perfectly even. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. A toothpick should come out clean or slightly gooey if you like fudgy brownies. Let them cool completely before cutting. Enjoy your crazy sugary goodness.
